Did You Know is a video created by Karl Fisch packed with stunning information on how profoundly the human race has progressed through history. Focusing mainly on the 20th and 21st century, this video is packed with stats, facts, and predictions. Even so, it had a profound intention: to prepare students mentally for what crazy things that they’re going to experience in their lives. For instance, Did You Know stated that by the time I’m 38, I will have had at least ten jobs, and will probably only stay at a job for around a year, maybe less. It also hinted towards this generation’s future love lives...quite a few of us won’t even meet future husbands and wives in person, but through dating sites.
Did You Know, well, scared me. Not just because other countries will surpass the U.S. in almost every way, but because we refuse to accept that, or much less do anything about it. So far all I’ve ever heard of politicians talk about competition with other countries is to win elections. We speak, yet we don’t do, and we only speak half heartedly. It makes me think that America hit it’s prime like forty years ago, and this won’t be the place to be in thirty to fifty years. Another thing that scared me was the amazing amount of change that we’re about to go through. So many different jobs, it’ll change the quality and methods of producing and manufacturing goods so much. I think it will be really interesting to see what a world this would be without the U.S. as a major superpower.
